It’s a competitive work environment and you gain the edge when your skills exceed those of other applicants for investigation positions. In less time than it takes to watch your favourite television program each week you can learn the skills that will accelerate your career beyond the standard requirements for licensing.
A special message from Mike Evans
Welcome to the information on the Australian Security Academy’s Summer School Program. This program has been designed in association with requests from investigation agencies to provide Investigation skills relevant to the civil investigation workplace. That is skills that exceed the basic requirements of any state’s licensing program and make you the candidate with the added value employers require.
In the real world to excel as an investigator you must know the employers requirements and what kind of investigations are conducted by that employer. There is no one size fits all qualification that meets every requirement. Every investigation agency requires multi skilled individuals. Become one of those and you get employed.
The investigation industry is one with a large turnover of staff; this is mainly because investigators grow into Government employment, as they are attracted by the higher incomes and benefits.
Thus a continual vacuum is created in vacancies, and employers need to fill those vacancies.
How to excel in this industry?
1. Complete work thoroughly and on time.
2. Communicate with your employer and client.
3. Be competitive in your business approach.
Insurers today want investigations completed in 14 days, from receipt of instructions, to final report, and updates every three days in the process. If you can meet that challenge across a range of investigation types, you can excel as an investigation professional.
That is why the Academy put together the Summer School Program. To assist you to decide what will accelerate your career an explanation is below.
Yours Sincerely,
Mike Evans.
